Job Description

Valley Industries is seeking a dependable and detail‑oriented Accounting Clerk to perform routine clerical, filing, and data entry tasks related to accounting functions. This position supports accounts payable, billing, and accounts receivable activities while ensuring accuracy, organization, and timely processing of financial information. This role will be in office based out of our Paynesville, Minnesota location. 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform routine data entry and management of accounting records, including accounts payable, billing, and accounts receivable
• Process EDI transactions and manage activity through customer and vendor portals
• Review billing statements, invoices, and related documents for accuracy and report discrepancies to supervisory staff
• Distribute accounting and financial reports as directed
• Enter returned goods authorizations (RGAs) into the accounting system
• Distribute customer statements on a monthly basis
• Assist the Collection Manager with payment collection efforts
• Assist the Accounting Manager with weekly check runs
• File and maintain accounting records as needed
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous accounting or clerical experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Basic knowledge of accounting functions and data entry
• Ability to work with accounting systems and electronic portals
• Good organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Work Environment

• Office environment with routine computer and clerical work
• Regular interaction with accounting staff and internal departments
