Job Description

Salary: $62,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

  • We need an experienced developer with at least 1 year of hands-on programming and debugging experience in object-oriented languages such as Java and C#.
  • We require practical knowledge of IT systems engineering using MS .NET Framework, Visual Studio, SQL Server, Angular, DevExpress, and Crystal Reports.
  • We expect experience working with scripting languages such as JavaScript or similar technologies.
  • We require the ability to write SQL queries for MS SQL, MySQL, or comparable database platforms.
  • We need familiarity with ODBC, JDBC, web services, and SOA concepts.
  • We require strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • We are looking for a self-directed professional who can work independently and collaboratively.
  • We need someone who can manage multiple assignments and meet priorities set by supervision.
  • We require a commitment to public service.
  • A bachelors degree in computer science or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Experience in an Agile development environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of relational database fundamentals is preferred.
  • Experience with Windows servers, Linux, MS SQL, and MySQL is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Windows, and Adobe Acrobat is preferred.
  • Experience working in a state or federal court is preferred.
  • Selected candidates must successfully complete a ten-year FBI background investigation and subsequent updates every five years.
Responsibilities:
  • We develop, test, and maintain containerized applications.
  • We design, modify, adapt, and enhance existing software to improve performance, fix defects, and support new hardware.
  • We install or help install new and updated software releases.
  • We work with source control systems, build and release tools, CI/CD pipelines, and software build processes.
  • We implement DevSecOps practices using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or similar platforms.
  • We support multiple products and collaborate with several teams at once.
  • We analyze large national information systems and create local customizations as needed.
  • We ensure projects are completed on schedule and to stakeholder satisfaction.
  • We learn and apply new tools and technologies when required.

We are the U.S. District Court Clerks Office, and we are seeking an experienced full-time Developer to join our Information Technology team supporting the U.S. District Court for the Districts of Montana and Massachusetts. This role is based in Boston, MA, with eligibility for full-time telework or a hybrid arrangement.
