Job Description

The Vanderbilt Eye Institute in Nashville Tennessee is seeking a pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus specialist to join our pediatric division faculty which currently includes seven fellowship-trained pediatric ophthalmologists four pediatric optometrists seven orthoptists and five pediatric ophthalmic subspecialists with an average annual volume of approximately 35000 outpatient visits and 1500 surgical cases. Active training programs include our pediatric ophthalmology fellowship program an ophthalmology residency an orthoptist training program and a technician training program. The Vanderbilt Eye Institute is a multi-specialty academic ophthalmology practice with over 60 full-time clinical and research faculty members state of the art facilities and equipment and multiple offices that serves an annual patient volume of nearly 200000. The Childrens Hospital is adjacent to our main campus and is consistently ranked as one of the best in the southeastern United States.

We seek fellowship-trained Pediatric Ophthalmology faculty candidates who are certified or eligible for certification by the American Board of Ophthalmology and eligible for an unrestricted Tennessee medical license. This position carries a full-time clinician-educator clinician-investigator or clinical practice track appointment at the assistant associate professor or professor level as appropriate. The ideal candidate has the desire to build a busy patient care is committed to teaching medical students/residents/fellows.
