Overview
Registered Nurse, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) travel assignment in San Luis Obispo, California. Beginning April 20, 2026 for a 13-week engagement. Shift is nights, 12 hours per shift with an expectation of 36 hours per week. Weekly pay ranges from $1,894 to $1,939 per week. This assignment is in a home healthcare - hospice setting and includes cross-training to Pediatrics with float opportunities as needed. The role involves planning, coordination, and provision of NICU nursing care on assigned shifts. You will develop and implement care plans, administer medications, monitor physiological changes, address psychosocial needs of neonates, and educate families. The position is represented by a CNA, and you will supervise and delegate to ancillary personnel within your scope of practice.

Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and provide NICU nursing care on assigned night shifts.
- Administer medications, monitor neonates for physiological changes, and document clinical status.
- Develop and update individualized care plans; educate families on care needs and discharge planning.
- Monitor vitals, respiratory status, and equipment; respond to changes in patient condition promptly.
- Supervise and delegate appropriate tasks to ancillary personnel (e.g., CNAs) within scope of practice; float to Pediatrics as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and collaborate with the care team to ensure patient safety and quality of care.

Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in California (or valid compact license with CA practice privileges).
- NICU/NICU care experience preferred; willingness to work in a NICU environment.
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and to participate in cross-training/float to Pediatrics as needed.
- Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a home healthcare - hospice context and coordinate with CNAs and other care team members.
