Overview
Travel Surgical Tech, surgical tech specialty, Utica, NY. Start date: 06/15/2026 for a 13-week assignment. Guaranteed hours: 40 per week. Shift: 4x10 schedule (12:30 PM–11:00 PM) with on-call. Work in a hospital setting providing general, robotic, and OR-level care for pediatric through adult patients. Requires active certification and experience with scrub duties, trauma cases, and neuro procedures. The role involves assisting with robotic surgery using the Da Vinci system and documenting in Epic EMR.

Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room and maintain sterile technique; pass instruments and assist the surgical team during procedures
- Scrub for general, robotic, and trauma cases; assist with neuro surgeries as required; anticipate instrument and equipment needs
- Operate and assist with the Da Vinci robotic system; ensure proper setup, instrument handling, and patient positioning
- Document intraoperative events, supplies used, and patient status in Epic EMR; ensure accurate charting
- Support patient safety and comfort, coordinate with anesthesia and nursing staff, and manage room turnover between cases

Requirements
- Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA or NCCT) or grandfathered based on experience; active certification
- Neurosurgical experience required; trauma experience; scrub experience in the OR
- Minimum 2 years of surgical tech experience
- BLS certification
- Education: completion of an accredited surgical technology program; ability to work in a hospital setting
- Ability to work a 4x10 shift and be available for on-call coverage; patient population range from pediatric to adult
- Proficiency with Epic EMR
